The Stated Annual General Meeting will take place after morning service on Sunday 14th March. Any nominations for the Congregational Board and any items of AOCB should be advised to Ina Jefferson by Sunday 7th March. There will be a presentation of the new church building project at this meeting.
1st Houston Girls’ Brigade Coffee Morning: 1st Houston Girls’ Brigade (Brigaders Section) will be holding a coffee morning on Saturday 20th March from 10am - 12 noon in the Church Halls in Houston. Proceeds from the coffee morning will go to Yorkhill Teenage Cancer Trust. Tickets cost £2.00 and can be bought at the door on the day or by contacting Margaret Gray on 01505 382690. Please come along and help the girls support a very worthwhile cause.

HKK Guild: On Tuesday 9th March our own Isobel Grant will give us an updated talk on the "Mission Direct work in Brazil". This will I'm sure be a most interesting evening. Anyone wishing to join us will be most welcome.
The "Wee Blether": Meets every Tuesday from 10.30am to 11.30am in the church halls. Please come and join us - you will be made very welcome
Walking Group: The next walk is on Saturday 20th March and is a 6 mile circular walk around Loch Chon. This is on the road from Aberfoyle to Inversnaid. The walk is mainly on rough paths and tracks and walking shoes or boots should be worn. Bring a packed lunch and meet at the Kirk at 9.30am. There will be an extra walk on Saturday 3rd April (Easter weekend) and is a lovely walk through fields, lanes and woods along Lomondside near Gartocharn. It is not a long walk being only about 4 miles. More details later. Other dates for April are Saturdays 10th and 24th.
New Rotas available at the back of the church for Feb. to July. Please uplift your copy if you are on any rota listed below: Office Bearers, Crèche & Behind the Scenes, Coffee, Car run, Flowers and Audio/Visual.
Crèche and Behind the Scenes (BTS): A crèche (up to 3 yrs) and BTS (3 yrs and over) is available to children and is held in the session & vestry rooms after the children’s hymn. Children attending crèche or BTS should enter via the doors at the front of the church behind the pulpit and not go outside. Each child needs to be registered (once only) and to collect a name badge (each Sunday). Please see the crèche/BTS staff at the back of the church before the service or come through with your child to the vestry at the appointed time. Interested in Crafts or Flowers?
It would be good to establish a craft/flower group and welcome anyone interested in crafts and/or flowers to join us in setting up informal regular gatherings of like minds to have fun, exchange ideas and have hands on afternoons and evenings practising new skills. You are invited to The Manse at 2pm on Wednesday 10th March for a ‘set up’ meeting. WATCH THIS SPACE - - - we already have out first fun afternoon pencilled in for the afternoon of the 16th March and all are welcome. The group is likely to meet on Tuesdays sometimes afternoons, sometimes evenings depending on availability of the Church hall. Please telephone or email Liz at The Manse if you wish to attend the initial set up meeting on 10th March.
NEW STAND AT THE CARNIVAL
Art Gallery and Handcrafts (This takes the place of the Soft Goods Stall).
A display of paintings supplied by members of the Brookfield Art Club together with paintings from local artists will be on sale. A percentage of the sale price will be donated to the carnival funds. We shall also be looking for handcrafted goods from our gifted church members to sell on our stall. So get your paints at the ready and your hands working overtime between now and May. Prayer: As we meet and remember how our Lord Jesus shared a meal with his friends before He offered Himself as a sacrifice for the sins of all, may we, as we join together in communion, contemplate again His suffering and pray that we will experience true repentance and be faithful in our lives as Christians.
