HOUSTON AND KILLELLAN KIRK (SC 012822) – THE UNITARY FORM OF CONSTITUTION – THE KIRK SESSION.
On the 24th April 2012, as duly authorised by the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, and having been approved by the Kirk Session and Congregation of Houston and Killellan Kirk and Presbytery of Greenock and Paisley, the control of the affairs of the Congregation , both spiritual and temporal , is now vested in the Kirk Session under the said Unitary form of Constitution. Full details of the Unitary Constitution can be seen on the Church of Scotland website.
The attached file click here shows the proposed remits of the 6 Kirk Session teams ie Finance, Worship , Mission , Fabric and Grounds, Organisation and Management and Safeguarding and the names of the proposed team leaders and team members. Team leaders have already met and various changes, amendments etc have been made to team remits.
Team leaders, (or their representatives)together with the Moderator, Session Clerk and Deputy Session Clerk will form the Co-ordinating and Supervisory group (CSG) and they will meet 7/10 days before each Session meeting to consider team reports and plan the agenda.
Team leaders are encouraged to have a team meeting before the first CSG meeting on 16th August.
It will be noted that some members do not appear on any of the teams as they already are involved in ongoing Church work eg building extension project etc. However, if any member not shown wishes to be involved in a team or if any member would prefer to work in another team please speak to Helen Dunn on 01505/614266 or e-mail her at Helen @welldunn.co.uk
It is proposed that Session meetings will be held every 2 months with meetings falling on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Mondays in rotation. Dates of all meetings for the forthcoming year will be available shortly.
The first meeting of the Kirk Session under the Unitary Constitution will be held on Tuesday 28th August.
