ORGANISATION: Girl’s Brigade Explorers

Programme/Activities:
|
The programme is geared to give the girls as many short activities as can be crammed into 1hr & 15 mins. The Explorers is for girls in P1-3.
They started the night with a few team and group games to heat the girls up! (Hall was quite cold). The games are geared to help co-ordination skills.
The evening was finished with craft work, colouring in, paint, glue etc.
It was good to see how much can be achieved in a short period of time.

The leaders seem happy with the facilities except the heating.

Points raised by Leaders:

The Girls’ Brigade have been given a copy of ‘Hymns and songs for assembly’ by Donald Campbell. They have chosen a list from the book which they would like printed into a booklet for their use. Our minister has been very pro-active with this but was not given this list of hymns as requested. This has been followed up and they should have a CD of the requested hymns and printed booklet of words in the near future.
The halls are cold when they start. The heating is on but maybe it needs to be on earlier. I have spoken to John Wilson about this.
One of the adult staff is leaving at the end of the session, could our Kirk Session suggest anybody who could be approached to help?

It was good to see the girls enjoying themselves, the staff are very well organised and have a great rapport with the girls. If it wasn’t for the help of two Brigaders they would struggle staff wise.
I would like to have seen the evening started and finished with a short prayer and a hymn.
