A SERVICE of WORSHIP is held each Sunday. The Church Record gives details of times for these services. Special services are held throughout the year at various times e.g. Holy Week, Christmas. On the first Sunday in July each year, a service is held in the evening in the Churchyard of the ruined Kirk of Kilallan in Barochan Cross Road.
The CHURCH CHOIR meets for practice on Thursdays in the Church at 19 30 (except June & July). We are always pleased to welcome new members. If you enjoy singing, please contact our Secretary Barbara Ann Brown (325452)
CRECHE and BEHIND THE SCENES. A Creche (up to 3 years) and BTS (3 years and over) is available to the children and is held in the session room and vestry after the childrens hymn. Children attending creche or BTS should enter via the doors at the front of the church behind the pulpit and not go outside.Each child needs to be registered (once only) and to collect a name badge (each Sunday). Please see the creche /BTS staff at the back of the church before the service or come through with your child to the vestry at the appointed time. BAPTISMS are held during the morning service on Sundays and these can be arranged by cotacting the minister, Rev. Donald Campbell 01505 612569, or come to the vestry hour on Thursday between 6.30pm - 7.30pm. In the church vestry.
COMMUNION is celebrated twice during the year on the 1st Sundays in March and October. Home communions can be arranged as necessary. On Easter Day there is a short communion in the churchyard at 8 a.m. On the first Sunday of every month, with the exception of March and October, there is a celebration of the Lord's Supper in the church at 0945.
FLOWER FUND. Anyone who would like to make a donation to this fund, which provides flowers for those in need, should contact Shiela Moore (613731)
A PASTORAL CARE team visits the sick, elderly, bereaved, etc. The co-ordinator for this ministry is Mrs Brenda Holdbrook, 01505 613894.

BIBLE STUDY. Throughout the year there will be various study and educational opportunities e.g. Lenten and Advent groups. This may cover the understanding of particular passages from the Scriptures or ethical issues which can be interpreted in the light of Christian faith. No previous knowledge is required. All that is needed is an open mind and a desire to be a part of the adventure which the Christian way offers.
Our CHURCH MAGAZINE 'The Record' is produced 8 times per year and is edited by Mr John Melrose, 01505 614649. Information should be handed to Mrs Kate Jackson, the Record Collater,01505 613676. This magazine and the Church of Scotland magazine 'Life and Work' are available to all. Copies can be obtained from Mrs Sandra Griffiths, Record distributor, 37 Crawford Road, 01505 321960.
The BOOKSTALL is available at the front of the Church after morning service on most Sundays. A number of members of the congregation now use a daily Bible reading plan. Perhaps you would like to try one too. Apart from the spiritual benefits, the Church benefits financially from a percentage of the sales.
Our KIRK CARNIVAL, held on the 2nd Saturday in May annually is one of the highlights of Houston community life. The funds raised from this Carnival usually around £10,000, which is organised by the Congregational Board, enable our Church buildings to be maintained in good condition and help us to meet a number of our other financial commitments.

If you are already a member of a church somewhere else and can no longer attend there, we will be delighted if you become a member of our congregation.The normal method of joining is by a Certificate of Transference from your previous Church but if this is not possible we will be happy to admit you by resolution of the Kirk Session.
