·        Wednesday 11 August 7pm Flowers (theme tba)

·        Sunday 19th September HARVEST SUNDAY  Help will be required to make up the flowers in the jars and also to decorate the Kirk.

Summary of meeting held in Church Hall Wednesday 10th March at 2pm.

There were 22 ladies present and apologies received from 12 ladies who are interested but unable to attend this setting-up meeting.

The thinking behind the Group was explained:-

·        It was to be a “hands on” group

·        It was to be informal, mainly FUN

·        Opportunity to try out new skills

·        Learn new crafts

·        Talented people within our own congregation willing to share talents

·        Learn more about flowers to enable us to help decorate the Kirk for Harvest/Christmas etc.

·        Be able to make items to sell at Kirk carnival or other fund-raising

1.      After discussion it was agreed that the group would be known as “Kirk Creations”

2.      It was decided to meet at least monthly, sometimes twice a month.

3.      Meetings will be held in Church Hall whenever it is available, afternoons or evenings (Tues, Wed or Thurs). Meetings will be intimated in advance on Web-site, E:mail, or Order of Service etc.

Two co-ordinators were appointed for the “flowers“:-  Anna Ross & Kathleen Campbell

Two  co-ordinators for the “crafts” appointed were:-  Moira Dunlop & Margaret Ballantyne.

Sheila Sanderson agreed to act as Treasurer. Each person attending the Group will pay £1 per meeting.

Jean Mills kindly agreed to organise the very important cup of tea!

Banners for Christmas.   It was discussed making banners to hang from the 6 pillars in the Kirk as part of the decorations for Christmas. We have been invited to Abbotsford Church in Clydebank to get some tips from their banner group who meet on a Monday evening. Further info to follow.

Several people have offered to share their skills & talents in card-making, stamping, embossing, felting, scrap-booking, patchwork, crochet,  jewellery, stick-pins, painting, decoupage.  The list COULD be endless. If you have a talent or hobby please share it with us.
