December was a very busy month for us. We had our Christmas parties, the beginners and primary sections were entertained in the church halls by mini movers before being visited by Santa, while 15 of the junior section went sledging at Xscape before drinking hot chocolate.
On the 18th of December we put on our best ever nativity, Are we nearly there yet? A big thank you to all the Sunday Club staff for all their hard work in putting this together and especially to all the children who entertained the congregation for learning their lines so well and for learning all those new songs, they performed really well and enjoyed every minute of it.
At the moment we’re getting organised for Easter and practicing another new song which we will perform in Church on Easter Sunday.
Sunday mornings are great fun for all the children involved, come along and join in the fun, games and crafts if you’re aged between 3 and primary 6. Please note that our starting time is changing to 10am from the 19th of February.
Lastly we’re always on the lookout for people who have skills, talents or interesting stories to tell the young people, if you feel you could offer the children something please contact Fiona Rodgers (612108).
The Bible Class Reporter ....
Throughout this term the Bible Class have been looking at family trees, starting with 'Who do you think you are' and JK Rowling's story then our own. We then worked hard on gathering information on the Bible family tree. While doing this we also rediscovered stories we had forgotten and found some new ones! We worked our way down the family tree starting with God and going as far as Jacob and Esau. It was interesting to find out how all the facts came together. We were also amazed at how big the family tree turned out to be and its now hanging up in our room in the Church Halls.
Next term we are looking at the topic of 'forgiveness', please come along on a Sunday morning from 9:45 to 10:45 in the church halls if you want to join in ( hot chocolate and cakes are still a regular feature!! )
The Bible Class is open to young people in P7 and beyond and meets weekly on a Sunday morning from 9:45am to 10:45am. For more details contact Fiona Rodgers on 612108.
"Bible Class
The Sunday Club were very fortunate last year to have been bequeathed a sum of money. Part of this money has been spent, along with a donation from the Church Board, in redecorating the room upstairs in the Church Hall where the Bible Class meet each Sunday at 9.45 a.m. The children chose the colours, painted the walls, chose the furniture, visited IKEA and then helped build the new sofas! They now have a comfortable space in which to spend time on a sunday morning discussing relevant issues to young people today. We hope that the other organisations that use this room enjoy the new surroundings; they can also keep up to date with what the Bible Class are discussing with the displays on the wall. Contact Fiona 612108 if any one from P7 upwards would like to know a bit more about our newly reformed Bible class - we'd love to have more people join us!
