There is a 7.5 mile walk this Saturday around the Garadbhan Forest, Meet at the Kirk at 9.30am and bring a packed lunch with you.

The next walk is on Saturday 20th March and is a 6 mile circular walk around Loch Chon. This is on the road from Aberfoyle to Inversnaid. The walk is mainly on rough paths and tracks and walking shoes or boots should be worn. Bring a packed lunch with you. Meet at the Kirk at 9.30am.

There will be an extra walk on Saturday 3rd April (Easter weekend) and is a lovely walk through fields, lanes and woods along Lomondside near Gartocharn. It is not a long walk being only about 4 miles. More details later.

Other dates for April are Saturdays 10th and 24th.

Two walks a month are planned, one of these walks could involve some cross-country walking but these will be mainly on paths or tracks.

For most walks we will meet at the Kirk at 9.30am on Saturday morning.

Should the weather be poor for a cross-country walk then we will probably change the planned walk for a tarmac based walk on the date.

Good walking boots are recommended but walking shoes and trainers will be suitable for many of the walks. Appropriate footwear for each walk will be advised.

Waterproofs or rainwear should be carried as we can never be sure of our weather.

Walks will be normally be 4 to 8 miles (2 - 5 hours) and brief descriptions of the walks will be found on the Kirk website or by phoning Fergus Stewart at 613083.

A packed lunch is suggested as the walks will run through lunch time into the afternoon in many cases.

Any suggestions for future walks are welcomed.

While I will try to make myself available to lead the walks this may not be possible throughout the year and other members of the Group may be asked to lead walks from time to time.

Please note that the Church, the Walking Group or the leader of each walk cannot accept liability for any accident which may occur on any group walk. Personal Accident Insurance is the responsibility of each walker.

Note: Persons coming on the Walks do so at their own risk.
